Many cookie briefs stop after the first banner choice. Visitors also need a dependable way to revisit that choice after the banner is gone.
Give settings a permanent home
Name the footer link or persistent control that reopens preferences. Keep its label consistent across templates. The panel should show the current state, explain each category in plain language, and distinguish required storage from optional use.
Define what changes do
For each category, list the scripts or services affected and what the site does after withdrawal. Clarify whether a reload is necessary and who owns removal of previously stored identifiers. Have counsel approve legal language and regional rules.
Verify the sequence
Test a fresh visit, acceptance, withdrawal, and a return visit. Inspect network requests and stored values at each step. Record the timestamp, environment, browser, region assumptions, and consent configuration version so another reviewer can repeat the check.
