Review Link Purpose Before an Outsourced Website Launch
Audit link labels, destination intent, context, states, and ownership before publishing.

**Published: September 11, 2026**
Links should tell visitors where they go without depending on layout or guesswork. A link review combines editorial clarity with destination and interaction checks.
Inventory important links
Capture label, source route, destination, business purpose, owner, and whether the destination opens a new context. Prioritize navigation, calls to action, downloads, account actions, and repeated card links.
Replace ambiguous labels
Read links out of surrounding paragraphs. Repeated phrases such as “learn more” become hard to distinguish. Use concise destination or action language, while keeping visible text and accessible name aligned.
Check every state
Verify keyboard focus, visited and hover styling, narrow screens, external indicators, file types, and broken destinations. Confirm that a whole-card link does not create confusing nested controls.
