When do CSS logical properties improve a localized component handoff, and what still requires human review?

Evidence synthesis

CSS Logical Properties define flow-relative dimensions, margins, padding, borders, and positioning. CSS Writing Modes defines block and inline directions, while HTML directionality supplies document semantics. W3C Internationalization guidance explains structural and inline bidirectional text concerns.

Replacing every physical property mechanically is not enough. Brand marks, media controls, maps, directional icons, charts, mixed-script strings, and intentionally physical alignment may need case-specific decisions. Translation expansion also creates constraints unrelated to direction.

Practical interpretation

Inference: logical properties reduce duplicated layout rules when spacing follows reading flow, but the handoff must label intentional physical directions. Acceptance should use real or linguistically representative content rather than mirrored screenshots alone.
