Review an Embedded Video Beyond the Play Button
Set acceptance rules for captions, transcripts, consent, responsive sizing, controls, posters, and provider failure.

A video embed can look finished while captions are wrong, keyboard controls disappear, or a third party loads before consent. Review the media, player, and surrounding page as one experience.
Hand over approved media details
Provide the final video, title, poster image, language, caption file, transcript, and publication owner. Say whether audio description or another alternative is required. Captions need a content review; their presence alone does not prove accuracy.
Set player expectations
Require visible keyboard-operable controls for play, pause, volume, captions, and full screen where supported. Avoid unexpected autoplay with sound. Define how the player behaves at narrow widths, high zoom, and when a person enlarges captions.
Decide how third parties load
Document the approved host, cookies or requests it introduces, and any consent requirement. A privacy placeholder should state what will load and keep enough space to prevent the page from jumping. Provide a direct alternative when the provider is unavailable.
Review real states
Record the player version, media version, route, browser, and result. If the provider changes its interface, schedule a targeted recheck rather than assuming the accepted behavior will remain fixed.
