Review Website Performance With the Design Team
A shared performance review connects page choices, content, assets, and observed loading behavior.

Performance review works best when the design team can see which page choice caused an issue. A score without the page context rarely tells anyone what to change.
Name the experience
Record the page task, important content, test conditions, and observed behavior. Include whether the issue concerns loading, movement, input response, or content stability.
Inspect the design choices
Review image dimensions, font loading, motion, embeds, and above-the-fold content. Ask which choice is required for the page job and which can be simplified.
Keep the result actionable
Write the finding, evidence, owner, and next test. Do not ask the designer to solve a server or content problem without naming the person who can change it.
Recheck after content changes
The final page may behave differently from a mockup. Review again when approved assets and copy are present.

Frequently asked questions
Should performance review happen only at launch?
No. Early checks can prevent a design decision from becoming expensive to change later.
What if the cause is unknown?
Record the evidence and assign investigation. Do not turn an unresolved cause into a guess about the design.
